Annemarie is the Director of Sustainability at Tata Steel Netherlands where she is responsible for the broad sustainability portfolio and for the development and realisation of the decarbonisation strategy. It is the ambition of Tata Steel to transform their steelmaking site in IJmuiden towards hydrogen based steelmaking, in the vision to become lean, green and circular. 

Annemarie is a chemical engineer and started her career as a Process Engineer at Fluor, designing technologies across oil, gas and power. During her 20 years experience at Fluor, she has amassed impressive experience in all phases of project execution in various leadership roles across Europe.

Annemarie joined Tata Steel in 2008 as Manager of Projects. She has been involved in redesigning power generation strategy and became responsible for the Energy Efficiency of all of the sites of Tata Steel Europe.  She joined the Dutch Management Team as Director of Engineering in 2011, and the UK management team in 2013. In 2015, she added the overall European responsibility to this role. In 2019, Annemarie was appointed Director of Sustainability reporting to the CEO.
