Dr. Peter Bouwman joined Schaeffler in 2021 as CTO to lead the Industrial Hydrogen R&D division, bringing 20 years of experience in the field of hydrogen technology and electrochemical engineering. He has worked across the whole supply chain on delivering innovative material- and system-solutions.

His background is electrochemistry, achieving a PhD in lithium batteries, before engaging with topics as fuel cells, hydrogen compression, redox-flow and PEM electrolysers in leading positions. Following hydrogen around the world, Peter has worked in three continents: North America, Asia and EU, and will share his international perspective on the challenges and opportunities for scaling up hydrogen as renewable energy carrier.
